Who We Are?

"Lahun" is a community-based organization established in 2022, grounded in our strong belief in the power of women and their crucial role in shaping our societies. We hold that empowering women is the cornerstone of progress and development, and that every woman should have an equitable chance to fulfill her potential.

Our mission

Is to empower women and girls by offering educational and training opportunities, raising awareness of their rights, and supporting their active involvement in community life. Our goal is to foster a more equitable and just society where women can exercise all their rights and have equal opportunities alongside men.

We are convinced that investing in women is investing in the future, and that the empowerment of women is essential for sustainable development

Our Vision

The organization envisions an Iraqi civil society devoid of violence and the subjugation of women, where women fully enjoy their human rights. It aims for women to be educated, aware, and liberated from the shackles of ignorance and injustice, possessing their own identity, worth, and strengtht

Our organization, in collaboration with 20 other organizations and volunteer groups, is forming the Nineveh Voices Network for Transformative Justice and launching several initiatives concerning enforced disappearances and reparations.
